What you can expect
Our team “Artificial Intelligence (AI) Solutions for Supply and Value Chains” develops innovative solutions to derive insights from data that support better and faster business decisions. We implement data-driven solutions in its complete lifecycle for users in supply chain management around the world. We build digital twins for supply chains and beyond based on state-of-the-art technology.

Your main responsibilities:
• You will deliver AI solutions for our internal clients, and you can create and maintaining architecture using leading AI technology and digital twin frameworks.
• You will translate requirements of business functions like supply chain, marketing, research, and production into implementable business solutions.
• You will plan the implementation of solutions, choosing the right technologies and evaluating the evolution of the architecture as the clients’ needs change.
• You have a deep understanding of AI applications as well as the specific infrastructure we are working with.
• You manage the architecture based on restrictions, conflicting requirements, and any other limitations our team may be faced with.
• For selecting the right technology for a particular project, you have a vast knowledge of tools and technologies within the AI industry, while keeping yourself updated on rapidly evolving trends.
• You will collaborate intensively with our colleagues in a global BASF team.
• You will work in an international and agile DevOps environment.
• You will support industrialization of AI Solutions.

Our main requirements:
• A Master degree in the field of computer science, mathematics, life sciences, chemistry, or related discipline with at least 4 years of experience in a similar role.
• A Bachelor degree in the field of computer science, mathematics, life sciences, chemistry, or related discipline with at least 6 years of experience in a similar role.
• Advanced and practical (hands-on) experience of a number of programming languages, such as Python, R, and understanding of Microsoft Azure Cloud or similar cloud technology stacks.
• Proven track record of implementing machine-learning and AI solutions, development in multiple languages and statistical analysis.
• Understanding the components of building and maintaining AI Solutions, e.g. Data, ML and Model Ops, serving infrastructure, performance monitoring and cost control in the cloud environment.
• Practical work experience (3+ years) in the development of ML/AI Solutions, ideally in combination with complex data schemes and data modelling
• Experience in data integration, ETL processes, and linked data applications using tools like Microsoft Databricks, Kettle and Docker
• Excellent business consulting and technical consulting skills
• An entrepreneurial spirit and the ability to foster a positive and energized culture
• A growth mindset with a curiosity to learn and improve.
• Team player with strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
• You can demonstrate fluent communication skills in English (spoken and written).

Nice to have:
• Understanding of natural sciences and/or the chemical industry
• Experience with digital twin technology stacks
• Experience working in agile (Scrum knowledge appreciated) with a DevOps mindset
